Presenting The Tale of the Spicer

Today I´m going to write about one of my most recent fanfictions. It is The Tale Of The Spicer, a drama/adventure story based loosely on the story of the Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion. The story follows Sicarius Tenebra, a spice merchant in Cyrodiil, the Imperial region of the continent Tamriel. Sicarius is thrown into an entire new life when he discovers that an evil cult is reforming after its dhe efeat, and at the same time, as the story unravels, Sicarius Tenebra is the heir to the throne of Tamriel, son of the long-dead Martin Septim. His life changes from being a travelling merchant to the most powerful person on the continent. However, only his most loyal companions, the Blades, and ancient order created to defend the royal bloodline knows that Sicarius is indeed the emperor.

The Cult, known as the Mythic Dawn, is led by a treacherous Breton by the name of Milielle, and their goal is to with the help of a long-lost Elder Scroll locate the parts of an extremely powerful armor, which they will use to usurp the throne and enslave the continent. Sicarius Tenebra and his band of warriors must seek help from the different guilds of Cyrodiil to steal the scroll and find the armor before the cult.


Writing this story has evolved my skills a lot. Going from a part-time short story writer to a full-fledged author of an epic story has not been easy; my sleeping has been disturbed, I have spent awful amounts of hours in front of the copmuter to write, upload and answer mails from my followers, but it has paid back well, and I can without hesitation or doubt say that the Tale Of The Spicer has definitely taken me to a whole new level of writing.

Now, one of the things that have changed me when writing the Spicer is my english. English is not my native language, and sometimes I´ve had to use dictionaries, and web pages to help me. However, I do understand more english now than I did before writing the Spicer.

Creating and evolving characters has been hard, but very fun. Before I did this story, I was enrolled in a writing course which specialized in helping authors to create vivid and interesting characters. That course has been very helpful, and without it, the Spicer would not have been as interesting as I think it is now.

It has been quite hard to express Sicarius Tenebra as the man he is in the story. First, he has to deal with the mental issue of going from spice merchant to emperor, and then he looses his left hand. That was the hardest part, showing how his life took such a turn. However, as the story progresses, Sicarius partially forgets about his handicap, and continues his life, ignoring it totally at some points. Also, he has to deal with a lot of other mental disturbings and obstacles, seing his friends die in battle and such. Showing it has been difficult, but somehow I think I have managed to create Sicarius into the character I wanted him to be. Or, not exactly as I want him to be. Characters never do that.

I want to thank the communtiy for helping me, following the story and supporting me with reviews, views on the story and of course for making me continue writing. Without them, the Tale of the Spicer would never have been so fun to write as it is.

Also, a special thanks to my parents who support me and accept that I use the computer to write as much as I do and for as long as I do, maybe a little too long some times.

Crash Course: Biology

Crash Course Biology är en biologikurs med musikern, vloggaren, nörden, biologen Hank Green. Kursen kom i två sektioner, Biology och Ecology. Båda var spännande, och Hank Green har ett fantastiskt sätt att förklara saker, om än lite för snabbt.. Jag tycker att det var mest spännande att få veta saker om växter som mossa och träd. Dessutom innehöll kursen fantastiska animerade sekvenser som taggade mig ännu mer. Kursen finns på Khanacademy.org och lämpar sig till alla som är tillräckligt intresserade av biologi för att hänga med i Hank Greens snabba ordföljd.

Tusen år i Sverige samt 60-talet och punkarna.

Tusen år i Sverige är en bokserie med historietema i fyra delar som innehåller korta berättelser om barn under olika tidsepoker i svensk historia. Böckerna är skrivna av Tomas Blom & Gudrun Wessnert, och illustrerade av Sara Lundberg. Böckerna passar alla åldrar, historierna är skrivna på ett bra och förklarande sätt, detaljrika och fångande. Den första boken, Germund och gnällsäcken handlar om 1100-1400-talet, den andra boken, Trosspojken med Snurretoppen handlar of 1500-1600-talet, bok tre, Elle-Marit och blomsterkungen handlar om 1700-1800-talet. Den sista boken i serien heter Ingela Shingela och handlar om 1900-talet. Den boken, alltså Ingela Shingela, tyckte jag var mest intressant, speciellt när filmen kom, och punken fick inflytande.

Jag har valt ut ett kapitel ur Ingela Shingela att skriva om, det heter Blöjpunkaren och Mullvaden och handlar om sextiotalet, punkarna och de flummiga hippiesarna som ockuperade rivningshus på Södern. Även om huvudpersonen Hermans tankar om kapitalet och ockuperingen är oklara och lite konstiga ibland tycker jag att författarna har lyckats skapa en rik och detaljerad bild av sextiotalet.

Stephen Hawking (Film)

Filmen om Stephen Hawking, den som gjordes av BBC, var mycket bra och intressant. I huvudrollen som Hawking är Benedict Cumberbatch. Han gör en mycket bra tolkning av rollen. Filmen handlar mest om Hawkings ungdom, om hur han upptäcker sin sjukdom och gradvis blir sämre och sämre. Den var inte så sorglig som jag hade trott, men ändå gripande. Stephen Hawking föddes år 1942 i England, han är just nu Lucasprofessor i matematik, en titel som för länge sedan hölls av Isaac Newton. Han har arbetat mycket med teorin om att efter Big Bang expanderade universum extremt mycket, och emot slutet av dess existens kommer det att dras ihop igen och sluta i ännu en Big Bang.

Franciskanorden på Kökar

Franciskanorden grundades runt 1210 av Franciskus av Assisi. Under senare delen av 1400-talet och fram till reformen så fanns det Franciskanermunkar på Kökar, en ö och kommun i Åländska skärgården. Munkarna drogs till ön kanske för den väldigt goda fiskemöjligheten. Man har hittat rester från ett kapell och ett bostadshus nära Sankta Annas kyrka, som än står kvar på ön.
