Nationstates; The nation simulator

Nationstates is a simulator played for free in the browser. It is a game where the player starts and rules a state, however they prefer to, wether its a free and rich country or a corrupt terror state. It is a very interested game with thousands of players forming alliances and "invading" each other. One can not really call NationStates a game, there are no game-like elements, and the game is created to be similar to reality. Invading is done by joining a region (an alliance formed by several countries,) And kicking the other members out of the group.

Each day, the country faces new issues, wether it is a calm debate about bottled water or the citizens raging about taxes. It is all very interesting and realistic, the player can easily access citizen death rates, average income, civil rights and economy, etc.

I enjoy playing the game as the emperor of the Sanguinean empire, a harsh but rich country with extremely low crime rates and little political freedom.



From playing NationStates, I have discovered new things about politics, such as different types of dictatures and republics, jingoistic states and armed states. In my country, crime is nonexistent thanks to my capable police force. My countrys economy is strong, with some civil rights and completely outlawed political freedom. Therefore I count my empire as a sort of dictature, however, with freedom for the people but no freedom in politics. I think that this is a game for anyone interested in politics and those who want to know what it feels like to rule a country.

Waldorfveckan!

Än en gång åkte jag och hälsade på i Västerås Waldorfskola. Det var under en spännande projektvecka, med temat industriella revolutionen. Jag och en av mina kompisar skrev om Luis Pasteur och Marie Curie. Det var spännande och intressant. Varje morgon gick hela klassen ner till fyrorna och sjöng. Det var helt okej, men alla sånger hade svåra texter. Dessutom gick vi ut i skogen och täljde kastpinnar, fäktades på stockar och slipade och oljade bord. Jag gick på jättehöga styltor och fick nya kompisar. I slutet av veckan gick hela klassen och såg Song of Riots, en riktigt spännande och sorglig berättelse med inslag av rapp, beatbox och folksagor.

Det här har varit en av de absolut bästa veckorna någonsin!
